Ipswich is the county town of Suffolk and serves as a regional hub with a rich history, diverse cultural scene, and beautiful waterfront.

Ipswich has a long history dating back to Roman times, and evidence of its past can be seen in its architecture and landmarks. One of the most iconic attractions is Ipswich Waterfront, a vibrant area that showcases a mix of historic buildings and modern developments. The waterfront is lined with restaurants, bars, and cafes, offering picturesque views of the marina and the river. It’s a great place to enjoy a meal, go for a walk, or simply relax by the water.

The town centre of Ipswich features a blend of architectural styles. There are medieval buildings, such as the Ancient House and St. Peter’s Church, alongside Georgian and Victorian structures.

There are many restaurants, cafes and pubs in the centre and the shopping featues a great belnd of national and independent shops.

Ipswich has a thriving arts and cultural scene. The New Wolsey Theatre presents a variety of performances, including plays, musicals, and live music. The Ipswich Regent Theatre and the Corn Exchange Ipswich host concerts, comedy shows, and touring productions.

The town also has several art galleries and exhibition spaces, showcasing the works of local and international artists.

Ipswich offers plenty of green spaces for outdoor activities and relaxation. Christchurch Park is a beautiful public park that features landscaped gardens, a mansion, and a museum. It is a popular spot for picnics, walks, and outdoor events. Holywells Park, located near the waterfront, offers picturesque views, a walled garden, and a children’s playground.

On the outskirts of Ipswich is the Suffolk Food Hall where you can sample the excellent range of foods produced in the region.

Also worth a visit is the well-known farm and wildlife park,  Jimmy’s Farm as featured on television.
